  St101-St787 Strips

SAES Getters Non-Evaporable Getter (NEG) strip for lamps consists of a NEG alloy  firmly bonded, without the use of organic binder, on the two sides of a thin, nickel-plated iron strip. The NEG alloys currently used are St101 and St787.
This getter configuration offers considerably high sorption speed due to the large exposed surface of getter.

SAES Getters’ CTS strips offer:

  • Flexibility in choosing getter quantity per lamp
  • Uncoated area at the edge to allow for easy spot welding into lamp

    St101 Strips

St101
St101 is SAES Getters’ traditional NEG alloy for use in lamp applications. It offers very good sorption of hydrogen resulting in very low hydrogen partial pressure, especially in very high temperature operation. St101 alloy can also withstand relatively poor vacuum conditions during lamp manufacture

St787
St787 builds on SAES Getters’ many years of experience in developing NEG alloys. St787 offers lower temperature activation than St101, lower hydrogen pressure up to 450°C

Both alloys can be used in lamps backfilled with inert gases, and can work under a nitrogen atmosphere providing that their temperature does not reach values above about 400°C.
